Why are you guys so obsessed with citrus fruit?

LOL this one made us laugh, well i would not say we are obsessed, but certainly excited by our brand, the whole concept came to our creative 'jedi master' ;0) a few years back at zest's conception.

Fascinated by the whole digital revolution and that it was blooming throughout our youth, it only added to the desire to create and design multimedia master pieces in their many forms. Hence the importance of the word Digital (the very plateau that this entire medium exists upon).

We wanted to be unique and organic, completely different from the new media design agency 'norm' we decided that being sharp and fresh was to be our unique angle and what else could be as naturally sharp as Citrus fruit. Not only that, but it is possible to create an electrical current (to power a light bulb) from citrus fruit, thus powering our digital desire.

Combining these ideas into an industry ethos, we came up with:

What is the Jargon Buster?

We know that in the IT world today, there are so many new acronyms or terms and phrases that fly right past many non-IT orientated people who do not spend their time reading up on the latest 'Techy' speech.

Frequently, new acronyms appear in circulation that many people hesitate to ask "what does that mean?" Now, some people are lucky and have a very friendly, patient boss, but many of us DO NOT! So we hope this helps as an easy way to explain the phrases that are more commonly used on a day-to-day basis.

If you have any suggestions on any words that we should include or that we have missed, please email them to us at this address:

If you see any words within this website that have curly brackets {NAT} around them, click on the word and a pop-up window will appear with the relevant jargon buster explanation. Alternatively you could look through our alphabetical list for any perplexing words, terms, acronyms or phrases. [Click here]

What hardware do you use?

Our file server runs a classic Intel Pentium II stocked out with RAM

Our workstations are primarily (overclocked) AMD Athlons with 800MB to 1.2GB RAM SDRAM, 40-80GB Hard drives using an extra 5GB partitioned drive for a swapfile.

All workstations use Matrox dual/triple head graphics cards for Multi-monitor support. (You can never have enough screen space in this business: you need to have one screen for your source and at least a second screen for the final output.)

Why do you have a text only version of your website?

** The development of this feature has been unexpectedly delayed and will be installed hopefully as soon as possible. We are working hard to ensure that it is live as quickly as we can.

To be honest, it is our responsibility as web developers/designers to cater for people who cannot easily read text on a computer screen. Our new initiative is to try designing and building websites with this accessibility issue in mind.

By creating a text only version of our website we do not restrict any partially-sighted web viewers from the simple pleasure of having a good nose around.

We have also created our website to support the varying text sizes that the browser can override in the options VIEW/TEXT SIZE (IE). We have created the site to look how we want it to look, but if a viewer wishes to alter the text size, they have full control of the options available.

How can I make the website text bigger? (its hard to read)

To carry on from the previous FAQ, if the text is too small for you to read then you have two choices to alter the site's setup:

Option 1a: (Internet Explorer)
In your browser,

  1. Select VIEW
  2. Scroll down to TEXT SIZE and select "Larger". Then the text will increase in size, if this is still too small for you to read, please change the text size to "Largest"

Option 1b: (Netscape 6+)
In your browser,

  1. Select VIEW
  2. Scroll down to Text Zoom and choose your preferences.

Option 2:
If this still is not to your satisfaction then please go to our text-only version of the website by clicking the "Text Only" button situated in the top left corner of any page.
